My name is Clayton H. Ramsey,
but most people call me Clay.

I write historical articles, non-fiction essays, book reviews, stories of local interest, interviews, and fiction. I'm a regular contributor to Georgia Backroads and Morningside Neighbors magazines, and I've also been published in Parabola, The Writer, James Dickey Review, Valparaiso Poetry Review, The Chattahoochee Review, The Blue Mountain Review, Glint, and others.

I've appeared on Georgia Public Broadcasting and National Public Radio and my work has been honored by The Writer, the Georgia Writers Museum, and the Atlanta Writers Club.
As a former two-term president of the Atlanta Writers Club and current Officer Emeritus, Director of the AWC Townsend Prize for Fiction (2023) and being on the executive committee as reading director of the AWC-GWM Townsend Prize (2025), I understand that importance of supporting and giving back to the writing community.
I live in Decatur, Georgia, with my wife, my books, and cat, Simon.
